  I usually don't rate doctors but this is a must. For over two years I struggled with health problems unaware of what was really going on. After being turned away by many doctors and tests results coming back fine time after time I saw Iskander. The first time I saw him I explained I had problems walking, numbness, tingling, hypersensitivity to temperature clothes or anything touching my legs, muscle spasms, and a lot more. He proceeded to tell me that it was fibromyalgia after doing a check up and at first I'm not gonna lie, I was happy to finally have some answer and a name to my problems and issues that I didn't question it. So I took the required medication and 2 or more months went by and I wasn't getting ANY relief but getting worse and by this point had to use walker. So I brought this to his attention and he assured me that is was fibromyalgia and he'd seen it before and that I wasn't anything to serious especially for my age. Oh did I mention I'm 24 and at the time I was seeing him I was 22 and unable to walk but no worries it's nothing serious. By the third time I saw him I had asked if I could have some more in depth tests done or at least an MRI but he didn't think I needed it but said instead he'll run some more blood work. Mind you I've had every and any blood work done over 20 times by other doctors in the 2-3 years of having this problem I think it's safe to say nothing was gonna show up and something more was going on that wouldn't show up. He wouldn't listen and kept talking over me and by this time I've had enough and decided not to see him. Long story short months later I saw a specialist in Pittsburgh that was recommended bc by this time I was wheelchair bound. My husband had to bathe, clothe, and assist me to restroom at all times. The first time I saw her she right off the back said it's most definitely not fibromyalgia and that it was something more serious. By the second time I saw her I had to be emitted bc I got worse and was unable to move bowels or urinate. In less than 24hrs they ran tests and did and MRI done, and I was woken up at 2am with doctors surrounding me saying there was a tumor on my spine paralyzing me from the waste down and slowly causing paralysis to travel up my body. I needed emergency surgery. I had it done and if not I would have been permanently paralyzed and even then doctors did not think I would walk again. I spent a whole year in intensive therapy and rehab learning to walk again. And thankfully I am able to walk again but with difficulty and have back problems. What angers me though is that I wasn't heard by this doctor and that something so simple as an MRI could have prevented this from getting worse and I almost lost my ability to ever walk again bc of him and other doctors that have failed me. If you are having health problems and feel your treatment isn't helping I urge you to find someone who will help you. Just not Magdy Iskander.
